Repairing Cracks in Your Garage Floor

Off the floors in your home, your garage floor is clearly the area that sees the most significant traffic. From cars bringing in road grime, salt and cinders to muddy cleats and sporting equipment, if any area of Nature Stone floor may need some additional attention, it would be your garage.

If you do notice any wear and tear in your garage floor, repair is a simple process. Nature Stone, known for their beautiful, durable flooring surfaces, makes it easy for you to repair and maintain your garage floor.  Our DIY store offers custom repair kits that include all the materials you need in order to smooth out small cracks and pitting.

The actual process of repairing a Nature Stone floor is not complicated and is a great do-it-yourself project. Here is an overview of the process:

  1. The first step is to clean the area thoroughly. Sweep away any loose debris and then follow up with a vacuum to remove dust particles.
  2. Set out all of the materials needed for the repair. Our DIY Repair Accessory Kit has all the tools that you need for a successful project.
  3. After putting on a dust mask and gloves, it is time to mix the epoxy. Follow the directions given in the DIY Repair Kit and simply mix Epoxy Part B into Epoxy Part A.
  4. Working quickly, as the epoxy is only good for about twenty minutes, mix stone or crushed stone into the epoxy until it is completely covered.
  5. Taking your trowel (included with the DIY Repair Accessory Kit), fill the area and then flatten out the surface to a smooth finish with the bottom of the trowel blade.
  6. To create a non-skid surface, which is ideal for garage floors, sprinkle a small amount of sand over the damp area as soon as the repair has been completed.
  7. Allow the patched section to dry for twenty-four hours until the repair is not tacky. Do not drive cars over the surface for seven days.

As you can see by these simple directions, repairing your garage floor takes just a little effort and a little time. The Nature Stone DIY store has complete instructions that will walk you through every detail of repairing your floor.
